In Progress: 3barreling, value betting ranges and bet sizes, paying attention to detail, I make one big blunder here not paying attention to detail and get myself into a gay spot, aside from that hand I havn't been missing much.

Weaknesses: Giving up in too many pots, still forgetting to look at things from my opponents point of view

This hand is history, for the next hand. He was playing 28/22 so far and I didn't really have any better plan than 3b and just play postflop, so whateves.

Now onto the hand in question, this one happened about 30 hands after and I had 3b one other person once but not him, this was the 2nd time I 3b him. I forgot about the first hand when I did 3b him here which is obv a terrible mistake I should have made a note on him if I am going to be forgetting things like this. But when it gets back to him and he makes such a suspect looking 4bet, given his large 4b the first time, the history of it being the 2nd time, and the fact that it's a squeeze all seemed fishy enough to make me think he could be bluffing here and folding to a ship enough of the time.

Relevant history for this hand: He is a reg who I have played with for prob a year or so now, he's a decent TAG prob a winner but prob not great or else he would have moved up. This hand is actually on the table where the first two hands took place, but he sat in after both of those and all of my other 3b/4b shenanigans have taken place, so he has no idea what i'm doing. Since sitting down I immediately 3b him once co vs his mp and then once again my sb vs his btn, he folded pre both times.

After he 4b to 25 I felt pretty great about this situation, I didn't really want to 5b to like 60 or whatever and risk him calling AK or something fucking stupid so I just shipped pre, I think this has to be pretty standard even 150bbs deep with recent aggro history in some hot reg on reg action.

SB: $99.70
BB: $129.95
Hero (BTN): $100.00

I joined 2 guys playing HU at a FR table, this is my first BTN, first 2 hands were folded by me and there were no sds yet.

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is BTN with A of clubs K of spades
Hero raises to $3, SB calls $2.50, BB calls $2

Pretty standard.

Flop: ($9.00) 9 of clubs K of hearts 5 of hearts (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $6, SB raises to $12, BB folds, Hero requests TIME, Hero calls $6

My initial bet should have been at least 1bb larger. Once he raises I think his range could consist of a lot of things. Top pair, sets, and air I believe are the biggest components of his range. Sometimes it will be 9x or TT trying to see if I have a king. I don't really see draws take this line very often.

Turn: ($33.00) 3 of spades (2 players)
SB bets $17, Hero calls $17

This bet size made me slightly rethink my flop range I put him on because this bet looks like he has a draw that is making a half pot bet to see the river. I'm not sure if I should be raising here to get value from those hands, or calling to see what he does on the river.

River: ($67.00) K of diamonds (2 players)
SB bets $32.50, Hero raises to $68 all in, SB calls $35.20 all in

His half pot bet makes me feel really confident in having the best hand so I think the shove is pretty standard. If he shoved into me however I would have still called but not felt as good about it.

Flop: ($9.00) T of hearts 5 of hearts 5 of diamonds (2 players)

I bet small to get him off of a lot of garbage and just try to win the pot, I figure i'll have to bet a lot of cards on the turn, basically anything but a 5, T or heart, gunna bet a lot of brick rivers too.

Turn: ($19.00) J of diamonds (2 players)
Hero bets $14, CO calls $14

Pretty standard

River: ($47.00) T of spades (2 players)

The way the actual hand played out I think it is all very standard. I just want to make sure my plan of starting a bluff on this flop is good or not.

CB should be standard, when he raises I immediately recognize that this is a spot where I usually end up folding, not always on the flop, but I don't seem to get to showdown a lot unless he checks back the turn. If positions were earlier, like I raise UTG he flats in MP, I would just be folding here.

I considered a 3b right here, and I think that's probably a good plan. I don't allow him to check back the turn if he has a draw, I don't get bluffed off the best hand when he does decide to barrel draws. If I thought his range of raising the flop was so wide that I could 3bet than I could also call and call down, but I honestly have no idea how to interpret the raise and how much air to weigh into it.

Basically I could be convinced pretty easily that this is a super standard get in but it just seems like whenever I do I get shown a set or a combo draw at the absolute worst, the fact that this is FR makes me much less happy here as well. If this were a 6max table I would expect people to be getting it in lighter as a default and would always be getting it in here, probably just on the flop.

Turn: ($41.50) 8 of diamonds (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $25, Hero folds

Obviously I hate the way I played this hand, I basically called the flop hoping he'd check back the turn. If he bets anything meaningful on the turn, it always looks like he's setting up for a river shove and I just end up folding. Even this bet size though while it sets up perfectly for a river shove it is also somewhat small in relative terms to the pot if he did have a set on a draw heavy board.

Pretty standard bet/call imo, he can have draws, a worse Ax, complete air, or Tx. Lot of air to little value.

Turn: ($27.00) K of diamonds (2 players)
SB bets $17, Hero calls $17

He could be barreling a made flush here, but if so his sizing is ridiculously bad and i'm getting a good price to draw with my Qd. I think I am also chopping with Ax as well a decent % of the time as well.

River: ($61.00) 7 of diamonds (2 players)

I have the nut flush on a paired board, he's not repping a boat, but I still don't know if I can expect a shove to get called by worse. I mean, I don't know how light I should assume they stack off.

Flop: ($23.50) 9 of spades A of clubs 4 of clubs (2 players)
UTG+2 checks, Hero bets $13, UTG+2 raises to $35, Hero calls $22

As soon as I bet I was thinking about what you had mentioned about flops like this being ones that get called once very often so I should be betting big for that one call. Obviously I think of this after I bet but it was noted that my size wasn't good.

I think he 4bets AK preflop a lot, so I think the Ax hands primarily in his range are AT-AQ. The thing is I think he is just flatting my bet a lot when he has an ace, so I feel like his raise can be a draw or just complete bullshit.

Turn: ($93.50) J of spades (2 players)

Pre Flop: ($1.35) Hero is BB with K of diamonds T of hearts

Seems like a decent spot to 3bet early on.

Flop: ($10.80) Q of diamonds T of diamonds 2 of spades (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

I know in 2bet pots I would typically be betting here. Given this is a 3bet pot though I don't feel the same need to bet. I would rather check and try to get value on turn or river.

Turn: ($10.80) 8 of spades (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $6, SB requests TIME, SB raises to $18, Hero calls $12

So he checks again and I figure to have the best hand, I plan on betting the turn and river for value at this point. When he raises I thought this: I 3bet pre checked back the flop and am now betting 60% pot on the turn, which doesn't look very strong. He however has so far called, checked, checked, and now he raises, when I could easily be stab/folding. So I think this can be air since nothing for value makes any sense.

River: ($46.80) 3 of hearts (2 players)
SB bets $31, Hero calls $31

I wish he had bet larger, 65% pot looks like value but all draws bricked and his line still doesn't make sense, it's just a little stronger now. I still can't find enough reasons to fold.

I think his range is something like

-- equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 40.302% 39.77% 00.53% 117816134 1570390.00 { 22+, A5s+, KJs+, QJs, ATo+, KQo }
Hand 1: 59.698% 59.17% 00.53% 175271678 1570390.00 { TcTh }

I don't 3bet but I don't think it's completely unreasonable against this guy. Vs the average reg I wouldn't, but I think this guy is likely fishy enough.

Flop: ($9.50) T of diamonds 7 of hearts Q of spades (2 players)
MP1 bets $7, Hero calls $7

I think he can be betting a ton of his nuts and air hands. All of his overpairs, top pairs plus type hands, also any AK, AJ, KJ type hand. He could be turning any of his small pairs into a bluff I don't think he'll bet 99 or JJ all the time, but maybe something like 50%.

Turn: ($23.50) 4 of hearts (2 players)
MP1 bets $16, Hero calls $16

At this point i'm pretty confident that he has a top pair type hand at the very least. I could raise here because he doesn't seem to barrel the river much but small sample size. I do however get value from KJ or AK/AJ if they do decide to peel lite if I raise the turn although i'm not too sure how often he 2 barrels those hands, probably not often.

I suppose the turn could be a raise for the simple fact that I can't get stacks in without overbetting the river if I don't at least put in a small raise on the turn.

River: ($55.50) 5 of spades (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero bets $45, MP1 raises to $83.75 all in, Hero calls $38.75

So when he checks I bet for value vs Qx or any overpair that decided to play badly. When raised all in i'm kinda confused as that's a very weird line but luckily I was getting over 4 to 1 so it wasn't a tough choice.

Flop: ($12.00) 3 of hearts 3 of diamonds 2 of hearts (3 players)
UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets $8, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls $8

When UTG checks this flop I think he has overs that are giving up a lot, I just don't picture him doing much else here very often. Given MP's aggression on the flop and turn I think he would lead any pair he has here, especially given the pfr checking. So I think I have the best hand a lot and can bet for protection against all the overcards in his range.

Turn: ($28.00) J of spades (2 players)

When he does flat my 3b I would give him a range of: 77+,AQs-ATs,KQs,QJs,AQo-AJo,KQo more heavily weighted towards the middle of that range, I think he can sometimes have QQ+ and something like ATs/QJs but he won't have them as often as the other more middling hands of this range.
